Analysis reveals former German Health Minister Karl Lauterbach has been a frequent guest on major German television talk shows over the past decade. A recent study conducted by “Der Spiegel” tracked appearances on prominent public broadcasting programs, finding Lauterbach appeared in 119 shows since 2015.
The investigation examined guest lists from programs hosted by Markus Lanz, Maybrit Illner, Caren Miosga, Anne Will and “Hart aber fair”, totaling 2,932 episodes since 2015. Across these broadcasts, 3,992 distinct individuals participated.
Following Lauterbach, ZDF journalist Elmar Theveßen secured the second position with 113 appearances. Journalist Robin Alexander from “Welt” ranked third with 109 appearances. CDU foreign policy expert Norbert Röttgen placed fourth with 97 appearances and CSU leader Markus Söder completed the top five with 90 appearances.
