The conference agenda also includes discussions on countering disinformation and ensuring the safety of parliamentarians Klöckner expressed concern over campaigns designed to erode trust in institutions through the spread of false information, noting an increase in both frequency and sophistication She emphasized the importance of resilience, while simultaneously safeguarding open debate within democratic frameworks and avoiding any perception of arbitrary decision-making
Alongside the core conference sessions on September 4th and 5th, Klöckner is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with her counterparts, including US House Speaker Mike Johnson, the Canadian host and the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk
