Israel’s military has announced that it has attacked two military bases in Syria. According to a statement released on Tuesday, Israeli forces (IDF) struck the remaining military installations at the Syrian military bases of Tadmur and T4.
The IDF will continue to take action to eliminate any threat to the citizens of the State of Israel, the statement said.
Tiyas, also known as T4 Air Force Base, is the largest base of the former Syrian Army in the Homs Governorate. Previously, the base was used by the Syrian Air Force and the Al-Kuds Brigades, elite units of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), for their operations. The Tadmur base is located in Palmyra.
The Israeli Air Force had already announced on the previous weekend that it had attacked the two military bases in Syria.
Since the power shift in Damascus in early December 2024, the Israeli military has been conducting massive attacks on military installations that were once used by the Syrian Army. These attacks have targeted weapon depots, military airfields and air defense systems in various provinces of Syria.
Recently, the Iranian Foreign Ministry condemned the Israeli military’s attacks on Syria and Lebanon. The ministry’s spokesperson, Ismail Baghai, stated that the repeated aggression by Israel against both countries, as well as the escalation of the massacre in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, pose a real threat to peace and security on the international level.
