Israeli army says it killed a high-ranking Hamas commander in the Gaza Strip in a drone strike, supported by intelligence.
The man is alleged to have been one of the leaders of the terror attack on Israel, in which dozens of civilians were kidnapped and killed on October 7, 2023. Additionally, he is said to have led and advanced numerous attacks against IDF troops throughout the war, according to the Israeli army.
The drone strike took place in the humanitarian zone designated by Israel in the area of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip. It is claimed that “numerous measures were taken in advance to limit the damage to the civilian population”, including the use of precision ammunition, reconnaissance, and aerial surveillance.
