US President Donald Trump has publicly expressed gratitude to the Iranian regime, claiming it had warned the US in advance of a counterattack on a US military base in Qatar. In a social media post, Trump stated, “I want to thank Iran for the early warning, which allowed no lives to be lost and no one to be injured.”
The US President also expressed hope that Iran might now “create peace and harmony in the region” and would encourage Israel to do the same. He described Iran’s response as “very weak” noting that 14 rockets were fired, of which 13 were intercepted, with one Iranian rocket allegedly allowed to pass through intentionally as it was heading in a harmless direction.
The US had launched a massive military strike on three Iranian nuclear sites over the weekend, claiming to have completely destroyed them. Prior to the US strikes, Israel had carried out a heavy attack on Iran and since then, there has been a reciprocal exchange of rocket fire between the two nations.
