The AfD loses popularity after being classified as “right-extremist” by the Federal Agency for the Protection of the Constitution. According to the current trend reported by “Bild” (Tuesday edition) based on the Insa Institute’s survey, if there were a federal election on Sunday, the AfD would lose 0.5 percentage points to 24.5 percent compared to the previous week. The Union would also lose 0.5 percentage points to 24.5 percent. The SPD, on the other hand, could improve by 0.5 percentage points to 16 percent. The Greens (11 percent), Left (10 percent) and BSW (4 percent) would remain stagnant. The FDP would gain one percentage point to 4 percent. The Insa trend for the “Bild” was based on a survey conducted from May 2nd to 5th, 2025, with a total of 2,003 citizens being questioned.
