Hamburg Police Issue Arrest Warrant in Connection with Hospital Fire that Claimed Three Lives and Left Multiple Injured
The Hamburg police department has issued an arrest warrant for a 72-year-old man suspected of setting a fire at a hospital in the Hohenfelde district of the city, which resulted in the deaths of three men aged 84, 85 and 87 and left numerous others injured.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, at approximately 0:23 am, on Alfredstraße. The three men who lost their lives were patients at the hospital, while several others, some of whom later reported medical symptoms, were injured in the blaze. The exact number of those injured remains unclear at this time.
Additionally, a 72-year-old patient who was housed in a geriatric ward died on Sunday and the authorities are investigating whether her death is linked to the fire.
