Hjulmand Lands Leverkusen Job

Bayer 04 Leverkusen is poised to appoint Kasper Hjulmand as their new head coach, according to reports from “Kicker” on Monday.

The Bundesliga club is believed to have reached a preliminary agreement with the former Danish national team manager. He is expected to put pen to paper in the coming days, although the precise timing remains unconfirmed.

The appointment follows the recent dismissal of Erik ten Hag after just two matches, reportedly due to issues both on and off the pitch. Hjulmand previously experienced the Bundesliga as coach of 1. FSV Mainz 05 from 2014 to 2015. Most recently, he served as the coach of the Danish national team from 2020 to 2024.
