Historic Ceasefire Deal Imminent?

As ceasefire talks between Israel and the Hamas continue, a potential agreement is reportedly near, according to multiple media sources. According to the Jerusalem Post, the deal could be announced as early as Monday evening or Tuesday morning. In the initial phase, it is said that 33 hostages would be released by the Hamas, followed by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) gradually withdrawing from the Gaza Strip.

By the 16th day of the ceasefire, negotiations over the further phases of the hostage exchange are set to begin, with the goal of releasing all hostages and withdrawing Israeli troops, the newspaper reports. The exact timing of the first hostage release remains unclear. CNN, meanwhile, reports that the ceasefire is initially set to last for 42 days.

The talks between the Hamas and Israel over a ceasefire are currently taking place in Qatar.
