Hannover 96 suffered a decisive 3-0 defeat against Hertha BSC in their fifth match of the 2. Bundesliga season.

The second half began with Hertha gaining the lead; Winkler outmaneuvered Matsuda in the 51st minute and calmly slotted the ball past Noll. Hannover nearly conceded a second goal moments later when Chakroun’s defensive error was thwarted by Eichhorn, preventing a simple pass to Noll.
Hertha secured their advantage in the 68th minute as Reese delivered a cross to Kownacki, who headed in from seven meters. A subsequent attempt by Ghita in the 80th minute was denied once more by Winkler’s intervention on the goal line.
The match concluded with Schuler, who had entered as a substitute, adding a third goal in the second minute of added time. The 26-year-old controlled a Cuisance cross directly, sending the ball into the left corner. This marked Hannover 96’s first loss of the season.
