Habeck's Poll Numbers Don't Worry Voigt!

Thuringia’s Minister-President Mario Voigt (CDU) is not concerned about the rising poll numbers of the Green’s Chancellor candidate Robert Habeck, according to his own statement.

Voigt told the “Rheinische Post” (Saturday edition) on the sidelines of the CDU’s executive committee meeting in Hamburg: “No, I see that we as CDU are now fighting for election victory as one unit. I also notice that the issues are resonating with people.” There is a “desire for something to change”, the Minister-President added.

When asked if Merz should do more in the election campaign, Voigt replied: “He is really on the go a lot. We have now discussed the situation in the new federal states several times. He has a high interest. That’s reassuring for me.”

Voigt further stated that Merz senses “how we all, Germany is wobbling. The economic situation is difficult.” Therefore, the country needs someone “who knows the economy and can bring the country forward again”, the Minister-President said.
