A senior member of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) has called for greater representation of women within the party. Serap Güler, a member of the CDU’s federal executive board, emphasized the need for more visible women in the party, particularly in prominent positions.
According to Güler, the issue is not a lack of women, but rather a need for their contributions to be more widely recognized. In her efforts to promote young women in politics, Güler aims to inspire them to take an interest in the field.
In her approach to the Alternative for Germany (AfD), Güler advocates for addressing the concerns of the party’s supporters. She argues that simply labeling the AfD as undemocratic and divisive is ineffective, as it fails to persuade those genuinely considering voting for the party. Güler’s concerns are particularly driven by her personal experience as a person with a migration background.
