German Politician Expresses Understanding for Israeli Attack on Iranian Nuclear Sites
The Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the German Bundestag, Armin Laschet of the Christian Democratic Union, has shown understanding for Israel’s recent attack on Iranian nuclear facilities.
Laschet, speaking to the Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung, described the situation as extremely tense, citing the International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) recent findings that Iran has been in violation of all international commitments and is close to acquiring a nuclear bomb.
He emphasized that Israel has a legitimate reason to view this as an existential threat, given its history and security concerns.
Laschet called on Iran to reconsider its stance, urging the country to return to its commitments under the nuclear agreement and to desist from its destabilizing terrorist activities in the region. He expressed hope that the upcoming negotiations in Oman could be a turning point in this regard.
