Germany's Fuel Fiasco Unleashed!

Fuel prices at German gas stations continued to decline at the beginning of January.

On Tuesday, the average price of a liter of super E10 in Germany was 1,731 euros, which is 3.5 cents more than a week earlier, according to an ADAC spokesperson to the German news agency on Wednesday.

Compared to January 1, when the higher CO2 price of 55 euros per tonne came into effect, the price of gasoline also increased, by 2.5 cents.

The diesel price, according to the spokesperson, was an average of 1,663 euros on Tuesday, 3.3 cents more than a week earlier, and 2.2 cents more than on New Year’s Day.

The difference between the fuel types has widened a bit: a liter of diesel now costs an average of 6.8 cents less than a liter of E10, after 6.6 cents in the previous week.
