Germany's Firms Under the Climate Microscope

The CSU will subject climate protection measures to a “workplace check” after the Bundestag election. “In the future, climate protection measures must be industry- and workplace-friendly” it says in the decision paper of the CSU state group for the winter session starting on Monday in Kloster Seeon, which the “Rheinische Post” reports on.

This also includes “ending the wrong path of green steel production and instead setting up CO2 capture and storage” the CSU says. The Christian Socialists further: “We will subject climate protection measures to a workplace check in the future.”

A policy that would lead to production leaving Germany and the CO2 being emitted elsewhere in the world, “is in truth not climate protection, but simply a deindustrialization program” it says further in the paper.
