Germany Urges Israel to End Gaza War

A significant majority of German citizens believe the federal government should increase diplomatic pressure on Israel to end the conflict in Gaza, according to a recent poll conducted by Forsa. The survey, commissioned by “Der Stern” and RTL Deutschland, revealed that 74% of respondents advocate for intensified diplomatic efforts.

Only 22% of those polled do not share this view, while 4% expressed no opinion. The sentiment reflects a broad consensus across various demographic groups and political affiliations.

Support for increased pressure is particularly strong among voters of the Left party (94%) and the Green party (88%). Notably, a substantial majority of supporters of the governing CDU/CSU and SPD parties (77% in each case) also agree with the call for more assertive diplomacy.

While a majority of Alternative for Germany (AfD) voters (61%) also favor a more stringent approach towards Israel, a considerable 37% expressed opposition to such a shift.

The data was gathered through telephone interviews conducted by the market and opinion research institute Forsa on July 24th and 25th, surveying a base of 1,001 participants.
