A German parliamentary group representative is advocating for German involvement in the transfer of injured children from the Gaza Strip to Germany for medical treatment. Siemtje Möller, deputy leader of the SPD parliamentary group, expressed support for a recent initiative originating from Hannover and Düsseldorf aimed at facilitating the relocation of these vulnerable children.
According to Möller, the successful implementation of such a program hinges on cooperation with the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). Speaking to “Welt” news, she stated that she views the initiative as a “absolutely right and important signal” noting that other nations have already undertaken similar actions. She indicated a desire for Germany to participate in this humanitarian effort.
Crucially, Möller emphasized the need for secure corridors to ensure the safety of the children during transport. This, she explained, requires the guarantee of safe passage routes by the IDF, allowing the critically ill and severely injured children to be safely transported to established and experienced medical facilities within Germany for treatment.
