A Shift in Climate Between the US and Germany, Says Thuringian Minister-President’s Aide

In a recent statement, Mario Voigt, the Minister-President of Thuringia, expressed his conviction that a change in the climate of relations between the United States and Germany has taken place. According to Voigt, who is currently on a visit to the US, there is a significant interest on the American side in deepening the transatlantic partnership, but under new conditions. He emphasized that a win-win situation for both sides is essential.

Voigt is confident that Germans, particularly those from Thuringia, have a lot to offer, whether through economic strength or innovative power. He believes that this self-awareness will be evident in the upcoming discussions, demonstrating the country’s ability to make a genuine contribution.

Accompanying Voigt on his trip is a large Thuringian delegation of 75 people, comprising entrepreneurs, scientists and lawmakers. In New York, Harry’s Inc., a razor blade manufacturer with a plant in Eisfeld, Thuringia, announced significant investments, with the site to be further expanded. Already, the facility employs 600 people.
