German Inflation Holds Steady

Germany’s annual rate of consumer price inflation held steady in July 2025, according to data released Thursday by the Federal Statistical Office.

The inflation rate is projected to remain at 2.0 percent, mirroring the figure recorded in the previous month. Consumer prices are anticipated to have risen by 0.3 percent compared to June.

A more significant indicator, the inflation rate excluding food and energy – often referred to as core inflation – is expected to have remained at 2.7 percent. This figure continues to surpass the overall inflation index.

Energy prices registered a decrease compared to the same period last year, down by 3.4 percent. Food prices experienced an annual increase of 2.2 percent, while the cost of services rose by 3.1 percent.
