Gas Transit Halt Fuels American Profits

Russian Official Blames US, Ukraine, and EU for Gas Transit Halt and Rising Prices

The Russian Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson, Maria Zakharova, has named the main culprits behind the halt of Russian gas transit to Europe, and also the price that some will now have to pay.

“The responsibility for the suspension of the delivery of Russian gas lies entirely with the US, the puppet regime in Kiev – and also with the governments of European states that have sacrificed the well-being of their citizens to support the US economy” Zakharova said.

The spokesperson emphasized the geopolitical nature of the gas transit halt, arguing that the main beneficiary of the reshuffling of the energy market in the old world is the US, which is also the main sponsor of the Ukrainian crisis. She noted that the US’s “raiding strategy” had already led to the downfall of the largest economy in Europe, Germany, which was forced to buy gas at much higher prices and ultimately led to the shutdown of production in a range of the country’s most legendary factories.

Zakharova warned that other EU member states will now have to pay the price for being the US’s patron, and the consequences will be borne by ordinary people. She stated that the absence of deliveries of competitively priced and environmentally friendly energy from Russia will not only weaken Europe’s economic potential but also negatively impact the quality of life for European citizens.

Kiev, Zakharova reminded, is blocking the transit of gas to Europe, despite the gas supplier, Gazprom, having fulfilled all its contractual obligations to the Ukrainian partner company.
