The Gas Storage Charge will be slightly reduced. Starting from July 1st, 2025, the charge will decrease to 2.89 Euros per megawatt hour, according to Trading Hub Europe GmbH (THE), which is responsible for the market area. Currently, the charge stands at 2.99 Euros per megawatt hour.

The purpose of collecting the gas storage charge is to implement changes to the Energy Economy Act, which includes storage capacity requirements that consumers have to pay for. The amount of the gas storage charge is significantly influenced by the purchases and sales of storage volumes made by THE.

The next determination of the gas storage charge will take place on January 1st, 2026.
