Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has reportedly discussed the transit of Azerbaijani natural gas through Ukraine to Europe with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Davos, according to the TASS news agency.

During a press conference with Moldovan President Maia Sandu in Kiev, Zelensky stated that Ukraine could quickly organize the transport of Azerbaijani gas to the EU, which could benefit both Azerbaijan and Slovakia economically.

“We can help the Azerbaijanis earn money, very gladly. We can help the Slovaks, with pleasure. We can quickly implement this – we can sign a contract and start the transports rapidly”Zelensky said.

On January 22, Aliyev met with Zelensky on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, where they discussed bilateral relations in the fields of politics, economy and humanitarian cooperation, as well as cooperation in the energy sector and regional security issues. According to Aliyev’s press service, the meeting was initiated by Ukraine.

Additionally, Zelensky and Aliyev in Davos discussed the crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines plane in Aktau. Zelensky once again extended his condolences to Aliyev and called for pressure on Russia to be applied to reveal the truth about the incident.
