From NATO Chief to Norway's Treasury!

The German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, has welcomed the decision to appoint the former Norwegian Finance Minister as the new head of the Munich Security Conference, instead of the former NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg. “The Chancellor, as a former Finance Minister, welcomes this exceptionally” said Government Spokesman Steffen Hebestreit in Berlin on Wednesday.

Hebestreit also announced that the Chancellor will attend the Munich Security Conference this year, despite the ongoing election campaign. He did not disclose the exact date of the Chancellor’s attendance, but stated that a range of government representatives, including the Foreign Minister and the Defense Minister, will be present.

The Munich Security Conference, now in its 61st year, is set to take place from February 14 to 16, with high-ranking politicians and security experts from around the world expected to attend.
