The Bundestag election campaign has become increasingly intense, according to the Federal Democratic Party’s (FDP) general secretary, Marco Buschmann.
“This election campaign is particularly aggressive” Buschmann told the Rheinische Post (Monday edition). “It’s a cause for concern, as a free exchange of differing opinions – even harsh and pointed – must be possible in a democracy.”
Buschmann added, “We often encounter disruptors from the left and extreme-left spectrum at our events. However, we are not deterred. Our ideals of personal responsibility, freedom, performance and respect for property seem to rile the left-green milieu.
