US Senator Rand Paul has sharply criticized the “preemptive pardon” of Dr. Anthony Fauci, issued by former President Joe Biden just before his departure from office. Paul, on Friday, posted on the X network: “If there was ever any doubt about who bears the responsibility for the COVID-19 pandemic, then Biden’s pardon of Fauci has put that to rest forever.”
Paul emphasized that he will continue to fight for the truth to be revealed, stating, “As the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, I will not rest until the whole truth is uncovered.”
Paul believes that Fauci’s pardon will only help to lift the “veil of deception” faster. He added, “Shameful! Anthony Fauci will go down in history as the first scientist in government to be pre-emptively pardoned for a crime.”
Fauci, until the end of 2022, served as the medical advisor to several US presidents and the Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). Paul accused Fauci of lying about the origin of the coronavirus and being partly responsible for its creation.
According to a report by a Congressional committee, the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which causes COVID-19, is believed to have originated from a laboratory in Wuhan, China, as a result of the so-called “Gain-of-Function Research” that was financed by the US. Paul claims that Fauci was responsible for the financing of this research and therefore bears the responsibility for the pandemic and its consequences.
In the past, the claim that the virus was of artificial origin was considered a conspiracy theory and was not allowed to be spread on social media. In July 2021, Paul and Fauci clashed during a Congressional hearing on this topic, with each accusing the other of lying.
