SpaceX Achieves Milestone in its History with Historic Rocket Landing
SpaceX, a private spaceflight company, has made a significant breakthrough in its history. On Wednesday, a Falcon 9 rocket, launched as usual from the US Eastern Range at Cape Canaveral, successfully landed its first stage outside the United States for the first time, on the coast of the Bahamas. This marks the 21st Falcon 9 launch since the start of the year and the 15th that has carried Starlink satellites into orbit. For the first stage, it was the 16th flight.
The rocket carried 23 Starlink satellites into orbit and after that, the first stage landed on a specialized sea platform near the Exuma island group. Chester Cooper, the Vice Premier of the Bahamas, confirmed the landing and described it as a significant event for his country, providing an opportunity for the Caribbean nation to participate in the space industry.
SpaceX had announced the maneuver on February 8, stating that the collaboration with the Bahamas would enable the company to bring spacecraft to new low Earth orbits.
