Federal Interior Minister Nancy Faeser (SPD) has congratulated her designated successor Alexander Dobrindt (CSU) on his nomination and promised him a “smooth transition.” The incoming Federal Interior Minister will be able to rely on a ministry and agencies with highly professional staff who “give everything every day for a strong and secure Germany” said the outgoing minister on Monday. “We will organize a smooth transition so that the new federal government can start with full force and full commitment.” Previously, the CSU had named its ministerial cabinet. In addition to Dobrindt, Dorothee Bär (Research) and Alois Rainer (Agriculture) will also join the cabinet.
