Ex-Special Counsel Unleashes Verdict of Guilt

The Special Counsel, Jack Smith, has concluded that there is sufficient evidence to convict former and future US President Donald Trump for his role in the storming of the US Capitol on January 6, 2021. According to the 137-page report, the admissible evidence was sufficient to secure a conviction in court and maintain it.

At the same time, the Special Counsel stated that Trump would not be charged due to his election as US President. The report quotes the Ministry of Justice as saying that the Constitution prohibits the continuation of a prosecution and punishment of a President, regardless of the severity of the alleged crimes, the strength of the evidence, or the justification of the prosecution.

Until his resignation in November 2024, Smith was responsible for investigating Trump’s role in the storming of the US Capitol on January 6, 2021, as well as the possible violations of the espionage law through Trump’s handling of 32 classified documents. Trump’s lawyers had until the last minute attempted to prevent the publication of the report. The presiding judge has now sent the investigation’s findings from one of the two proceedings to the US Congress.

In a previously published report, Smith described Trump’s efforts to create a narrative of widespread election fraud during the 2020 election. The Special Counsel accused the former President of knowing that his representation was false. According to a staff member, Trump allegedly told family members on Marine One that it did not matter whether they won or lost the election; they had to keep fighting. The report also described how Trump refused to stop his supporters from storming the Capitol for hours.
