Dynamo Dresden secured their first victory of the season with a 2-1 away win against fellow promoted side, Arminia Bielefeld, concluding the third matchday of the 2. Bundesliga.
Niklas Hauptmann opened the scoring for Dresden in the 21st minute, finding the back of the net with a low shot. Dresden, having demonstrated offensive capabilities in previous matches while simultaneously revealing defensive vulnerabilities, appeared notably more stable in the first half.
Bielefeld equalized through Joel Grodowski in the 57th minute, capitalizing on an assist from Lannert. The goal appeared to unsettle the visitors momentarily, although Dresden quickly regained composure. A turning point arrived in the 74th minute when Christopher Lannert received a red card for a potential denial of a goal-scoring opportunity, leaving Bielefeld a man down. Shortly after, Stefan Kutschke had a goal disallowed for offside. The decisive goal came in the eleventh minute of added time, with Luca Herrmann scoring a spectacular overhead kick to secure the win for Dresden.
The victory lifts Dynamo Dresden to tenth place in the league standings, while Arminia Bielefeld drops to fourth following their first loss of the season. Bielefeld will travel to Braunschweig on Saturday and Dresden will host Schalke the following Sunday.
In other matches played on Sunday afternoon, SV Darmstadt 98 and Hertha BSC drew 0-0 and SpVgg Greuther Fürth lost 0-2 to Holstein Kiel.
