The CSU has named its ministerial team for the new federal cabinet. According to party sources on Monday morning, the three ministers in the board were introduced. The former CSU parliamentary group leader Alexander Dobrindt will become the new Federal Minister of the Interior. Additionally, Dorothee Bär will take over the newly designed ministry of Research, Technology and Space. Alois Rainer, a member of the Bundestag, will become the Minister of Agriculture. Alexander Hoffmann will lead the CSU parliamentary group in the future.
Staatsministers or state secretaries will be Florian Hahn (Foreign Ministry), Daniela Ludwig (Interior Ministry), Ulrich Lange (Transport Ministry), Silke Launert (Research Ministry) and Martina Englhardt-Kopf (Agriculture Ministry).
The CDU had already named its candidates for the cabinet. According to the announcement, Thorsten Frei will be the chief of the Federal Chancellery, party vice president Karin Prien will be the Federal Minister for Education, Family, Seniors, Women and Youth and Johann Wadephul will be the Foreign Minister. The former Bundestag member Katherina Reiche will be the Federal Minister for Economics and Energy. Patrick Schneider will take over the transport ministry, Nina Warken the health ministry. Additionally, the manager Karsten Wildberger will be the Federal Minister for Digitalization and State Modernization.
The SPD will present its ministerial list only after the end of the ongoing membership decision.
