Germany’s Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt visited the Jewish community in Halle (Saale) on Thursday as part of a regional tour. The visit, occurring almost six years after the terrorist attack on the city’s synagogue, focused on the security of Jewish institutions and reportedly addressed the increasing number of antisemitic incidents recorded nationally.
Minister Dobrindt was welcomed by Max Privorozki, Chairman of the Jewish Community of Halle. Also present were Reiner Haseloff, Minister-President of Saxony-Anhalt and Sven Schulze, Chairman of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) in Saxony-Anhalt and state Minister for Economic Affairs.
The Minister’s “summer tour” is scheduled to continue with visits to additional locations in both Saxony-Anhalt and Lower Saxony. The initiative aims to foster dialogue and assess security measures across the region.
