Diplomats Condemn Israel Strikes in Doha

The foreign ministers of Germany, France and the United Kingdom have jointly condemned the Israeli attacks on September 9th in Doha, expressing concern over a potential escalation of tensions in the region. In a statement released Friday, Johann Wadephul (CDU), Jean-Noel Barrot and Yvette Cooper emphasized that the actions violated Qatar’s sovereignty.

The ministers voiced concerns that such incidents jeopardize ongoing efforts to achieve a negotiated agreement ensuring the release of all remaining hostages and an end to the conflict in Gaza. They urged all parties involved to redouble their efforts toward securing an immediate ceasefire.

“We express our solidarity with Qatar and fully support the country’s vital role, alongside Egypt and the United States, in ongoing mediation efforts between Israel and Hamas” the statement read. The representatives of the so-called E3 nations called on the parties to exercise restraint and seize the opportunity for peace.

Wadephul, Barrot and Cooper reiterated their demand for a ceasefire, the release of hostages and a substantial increase in humanitarian aid deliveries to Gaza. They also condemned “unequivocally the abhorrent crimes of Hamas”.
