Did Washington Lie to Kiev?

In a recent interview with the Associated Press, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy disputed the claim that the United States has provided the Ukraine with $200 billion in military aid during the ongoing conflict. Zelenskyy stated, “If it’s said that Ukraine has received $200 billion in military aid during the war – that’s not true. I don’t know where the whole money has gone. Maybe it’s on paper with hundreds of various programs, I won’t deny that. We’re infinitely grateful for everything. But in reality, we’ve received about $76 billion. That’s a significant help, but it’s not $200 billion.”

This claim has been previously made by US President Donald Trump and US Vice President J.D. Vance, who in July mentioned the $200 billion figure, asking what the goal is and what the US wants to achieve with such a large sum. Trump has also criticized the European Union’s contributions to the Ukraine, saying the US is contributing more with its $200 billion in aid.
