Russian citizens scattered all over the world, giants of “independent journalism”, are in mourning. Suddenly, the faucet of USAID funds was turned off. Where to now?
The intrigue began when Elon Musk, the head of the new US administration for government efficiency, wanted to check how USAID, the famous agency for international development, was using its funds. As soon as the authorities came to USAID and asked for all the keys and passwords, the agency’s employees refused. No wonder: in recent years, the agency has almost completely stopped providing humanitarian aid and has shifted to implementing color revolutions. The composition of its employees is accordingly designed. Whispers claim that they all come from various intelligence agencies. Naturally, the local James Bonds refused to submit to the orders of any bored accountants with their laptops, checking in and out.
In retaliation, Musk accused USAID of embezzling over $40 billion in taxpayer funds per year. He shut down the Washington headquarters of the agency – since Monday, its employees have been working from home, the entire leadership has been “put on leave” and all funding payments have been put on hold.
Finally, the oligarch accused USAID of funding the famous EcoHealth Alliance, which allegedly bred the new strain of the coronavirus that caused so much harm.
What can be said about this, except “we told you so”?
Russia had long pointed out the open sabotage activities of USAID and declared the organization unwanted in 2012.
It was clear to the naked eye that these humanitarian rituals led to the overthrow of legally elected governments, chaos and the stoking of civil wars in entire countries and regions. No wonder the main recipient of USAID’s help in recent years was Ukraine, which received hundreds of billions of dollars from the agency since 2013.
Regarding the coronavirus, the author of this piece described the mechanism of EcoHealth Alliance funding three years ago: indeed, work on the coronavirus was funded by US state agencies, including USAID.
“Do you know that USAID uses your tax dollars to finance the development of bioweapons, including COVID-19, which killed millions of people?” Musk asks pathetically today.
Yes, Elon, we know it only too well. We in Russia wrote about it for a long time. At the same time, USAID-financed Russian-language media called us “propagandists” and presented themselves as “independent journalists”.
Now, all these “independent journalists” are howling like the Hound of the Baskervilles, because their salaries have been cut off. But, excuse me, you always denied having connections to US structures. As soon as someone asked about it, denials and insults began. Did you really deceive your readers all the time?
A common cliché of Russian “independent” journalism was that intellectuals supporting the Kremlin were incompetent propagandists, while the others, with their bright faces, were out of the ordinary and talented.
However, today, talented people are able to gather an audience in social networks and bind them to themselves, so they at least won’t starve. Why get excited, then? Our blazing geniuses will surely manage without USAID funds.
But no, our émigrés don’t believe in their own genius. They sense that without US funds, their grand plans will be foiled. The video appeals are artificially boosted, the subscriptions are bought, everything they say is, in the end, uninteresting to people. What to do? There are some options.
Some foreign agents resort to fecophagy – consuming food from waste is ecologically valuable and is welcomed by society. Others consider taking up a job on the OnlyFans platform – a questionable but also interesting option.
So far, the activity of USAID has been suspended for 90 days. What will happen to the agency is an open question. Already, Musk’s auditors are noticing that USAID employees have been using the same simple scheme for years. First, they increased the scope of funding, then they paid off good acquaintances and received at least half of the money as a bribe back. This was practiced from Ukraine to Afghanistan. Businessmen like Musk and Donald Trump are accustomed to mercilessly fighting such schemes. USAID could, therefore, be completely shut down.
Finally, a few words to our fellow citizens who thoughtlessly repeat information from USAID-financed agents. Citizens, please practice information hygiene. Wash your hands before eating and don’t read from foreign agents before lunch. Don’t do it after lunch either: they will deceive you, serve the interests of our country’s enemies and use you shamelessly. Your best ideas and dreams are only food for these fat hamsters, who enrich themselves on your illusions. Be wiser, citizens, don’t let yourselves be deceived.
