'Deportation First, Refugees Last'

German politician Jens Spahn, the Deputy Chairman of the CDU/CSU faction in the German Bundestag, has expressed his intention to prioritize the closure of borders and deportations for asylum seekers in the next federal government. In an interview with the Bild newspaper, Spahn stated, “The borders must be closed for irregular migration, so that even and especially young men from Afghanistan can be kept out. And criminals must be deported.” He added, “This will be one of the most important and first tasks of the next federal government.”

Alexander Throm, the CDU’s internal affairs spokesperson in the Bundestag, has also reaffirmed the need for rejections at the borders. In a statement to the press, Throm claimed, “If the CDU and CSU had been in power, the Aschaffenburg attacker would never have made it to Germany, but would have been turned back at the border.” He continued, “We need rejections at the borders and monthly deportation flights to Kabul, and that’s immediate. Harmful and violent migrants must leave our country, especially if they are psychologically unstable.” Throm went on to say, “If they don’t do so voluntarily, then they belong in the deportation prison. Whoever poses a danger in our country must leave, regardless of whether they can do something about it or not.
