The BSW plans to establish a foundation in the areas of “demilitarization” and “conflict resolution” through its “Foundation for Peace, Reason, and Justice”. This is evident from the foundation’s statutes, as reported by the FAZ.
According to BSW Treasurer Ralph Suikat, the foundation will “impact society” with its own themes. Jochen Flackus, a former Left and now BSW politician, and lawyer Hans Haarmeyer will serve as the foundation’s board members, which is set to be registered as an association in the coming weeks.
Alongside Suikat, the two board members, and the BSW’s Land Chair in Saarland, Astrid Schramm, Oskar Lafontaine, Sahra Wagenknecht, and other individuals are founding members. According to the statutes, the foundation’s funding will come from member contributions, donations, and grants.
