DEADLY AFTERNOON IN GERMANY

A small aircraft crashed into a residential house in Kleinenbroich on Saturday afternoon, with reports suggesting that two people lost their lives in the incident, according to the Rheinische Post. The plane, which was airborne at approximately 12:30 pm, struck the house, causing a section of the building to catch fire as the fire department worked to extinguish the blaze.

Initial information on the cause of the accident was not available and the area surrounding the crash site in the northern part of the Korschenbroich community was cordoned off. Residents in the immediate vicinity were initially not permitted to return to their homes, with a helicopter hovering above the scene to monitor the situation.

This is not the first fatal incident involving a small aircraft in North Rhine-Westphalia, as a similar accident occurred in March in Plettenberg, Sauerland, where a single-engine propeller-driven plane crashed into a garden, resulting in the pilot’s death.
