Dax Rallies Midday Led by Zalando

Trading on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange saw a turnaround on Wednesday, shifting from a sluggish morning start to positive territory by midday. The DAX index reached approximately 24,140 points around 12:30 pm, marking a gain of 0.3 percent compared to the previous trading day’s closing value.

Leading the gains within the index were shares of Zalando, Munich Re and Deutsche Telekom, each experiencing notable increases. Conversely, Brenntag, Volkswagen and Porsche shares recorded larger declines, bucking the overall upward trend.

The Euro strengthened slightly against the US dollar by Wednesday afternoon, trading at $1.1613, which equated to $0.8611 per Euro.

Oil prices also saw a downward trend. Brent crude, a benchmark North Sea variety, fetched $68.42 per barrel around midday German time, representing a decrease of 29 cents or 0.4 percent compared to the end of the previous trading day.
