SV Darmstadt 98 maintained their position at the top of the 2. Bundesliga following a 2-0 victory over Dynamo Dresden on Friday evening. The win secured Darmstadt’s continued lead in the league standings.
Isac Lidberg opened the scoring for Darmstadt in the 37th minute at the Böllenfalltor, with Fraser Hornby extending the advantage just after halftime in the 48th minute. Dynamo Dresden displayed effort but struggled to penetrate Darmstadt’s resolute defense.
Elsewhere, FC Schalke 04 secured a 1-0 win against SpVgg Greuther Fürth in Gelsenkirchen. Finn Porath proved to be the decisive player, scoring the winning goal in the 77th minute from a narrow angle. Schalke controlled much of the game but previously missed several opportunities. Fürth’s offensive efforts were largely unsuccessful throughout the match.
The result leaves Darmstadt firmly in first place, while Schalke remains closely behind in second, just one point adrift.
