The head of the health insurance company DAK, Andreas Storm, has urgently appealed to the newly appointed Health Minister Nina Warken (CDU) to bring legislative measures to stabilize the finances of the health and long-term care insurance systems into force before the summer break. “Health and care are facing the biggest crisis since the founding of the Federal Republic” said Storm to the “Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland”. “The problems cannot be postponed. Otherwise, the danger of parts of the health care system collapsing within the next 18 months looms” warned Storm. “That is why the new minister must bring a stabilization law for the statutory health insurance and the social long-term care insurance into force before the summer break” demands the former CDU health policy maker. “The appointment of Ms. Warken was a surprise. No one expected it, as she had no contact points with health policy so far” Storm added.
