In response to the pension proposal by Federal Labor Minister Bärbel Bas (SPD), Reinhard Brandl, the parliamentary leader of the CSU-Land group in the Bundestag, has called for more calmness and cooperation within the coalition. “What we want now is to start working on the points we have agreed upon in the coalition agreement” Brandl told the newspapers of the “Mediengruppe Bayern” (Wednesday editions).
“Many important issues are included in the coalition agreement that need to be addressed before we discuss topics that are not mentioned in the agreement and are clearly evaluated differently by the partners” Brandl continued. “Bas’ proposal may not have been successful in this context, but we shouldn’t be easily disturbed by every headline.”
Regarding the new coalition between Union and SPD, Brandl said: “We are different parties and therefore have different views. However, our common goal is to maintain good cooperation and move the country forward. We do not want to annoy the people. We agree with the SPD that we do not want to return to the traffic light mode.
