Berlin, Germany – The Greens are calling for a thorough examination of the country’s Corona policy in the upcoming German federal parliament. According to the party’s leader, Franziska Brantner, a parliamentary inquiry commission, involving the states, would be the right approach.
Many people, Brantner said, had placed their trust in the government during the crisis and now expect a critical review. “It’s a question of credibility and the ability to learn from mistakes, to seize the opportunity now. Even the investment in research, as with vaccine development, allows for inferences about the innovations we should be driving forward today.”
The Greens’ demand is seen as a reflection of the public’s desire for a thorough examination of the government’s handling of the pandemic and the consequences it may have for future generations, including children and young people who will only be seen in a few years.
