According to a recent survey by Forsa, the CDU and CSU are seen as the most likely to address the challenges of migration in Germany. The survey, commissioned by RTL and ntv, found that 29% of eligible voters in Germany believe that the CDU and CSU are best equipped to handle the issue of migration.
Seventeen percent of respondents trust the AfD the most, while 14% trust the Greens, 13% trust the SPD and 9% trust another party. Eighteen percent of respondents do not trust any party to handle the issue of migration.
The survey also found that the largest group of respondents, 53%, do not believe that parties of the political center will be able to agree on a common migration policy after the federal election.
However, 41% of respondents believe that parties will be able to agree on measures to control migration and expedite the deportation of rejected asylum seekers.
While a majority of supporters of the SPD (67%), Greens (62%), FDP (52%) and CDU (56%) believe that parties of the political center will be able to reach an agreement, a large majority of supporters of the Left Party (29%), BSW (19%) and AfD (5%) do not share this view.
The Forsa opinion research institute conducted the survey on February 14, questioning 1,015 people.
