Werder Bremen to Start New Season with New Coach
German football club Werder Bremen has parted ways with coach Ole Werner, effective immediately, according to reports by the “Kicker” and “Bild” on Tuesday.
Werner had previously informed the club that he would not be extending his contract, which was set to expire after the 2025/26 season. The club’s management, led by Geschäftsführer Clemens Fritz, expressed disappointment at the decision, stating that a long-term collaboration with Werner was still a viable option. Fritz emphasized the need to accept the decision and analyze the current situation to determine the best solution for the club.
Werner took over as Werder Bremen’s head coach in November 2021 and the team finished the previous season in eighth place under his guidance.
