Climate activists disrupted traffic on the A9 autobahn near Munich on Thursday morning, partially blocking the roadway for nearly three hours. According to police reports, six individuals occupied the carriageway near the Allianz Arena, with three utilizing methods to adhere themselves to the pavement. Additional activists unfurled a banner related to the upcoming IAA automotive trade fair.
Law enforcement officials repeatedly requested the activists to cease the blockade, but were unsuccessful. Police subsequently dispersed the assembly, a process that took considerable time.
The affected lane, initially blocked from approximately 7:45 AM, was reopened to traffic at 10:35 AM. Investigations are underway and those involved are suspected of coercion. Additionally, potential violations of the Bavarian Assembly Act are being examined. The group comprises individuals ranging in age from 23 to 67, including four women and five men from various federal states and neighboring countries.
