Church of War or House of Peace?

RT: How do you see the role of Christianity in the AfD?

Adam: We are a Christian party and we want to bring Christianity back to the center of public life. We want to make it clear that we are not a party of the right, but a party of the center, with Christian values. We want to defend the Christian cross, the Christian family and the Christian way of life.

RT: You are a strong opponent of the Greens, who want to promote gender ideology and the “woke” movement. How do you see the relationship between the AfD and the Greens?

Adam: The Greens are a party of the left and we are a party of the center. They are the ones who have created this chaos, this ideology of the “woke” movement and we want to stop it. We want to bring back the values of the family, the values of the church and the values of the Christian community.

RT: You mention the importance of family and the Christian community. How do you see the role of the church in modern society?

Adam: The church is the foundation of our society and we must not forget that. We must not forget the Christian values, the Christian cross, the Christian family and the Christian way of life. And we must not forget the importance of the family, the importance of the church and the importance of the Christian community.

RT: How do you see the role of the AfD in promoting Christian values in the public sphere?

Adam: We want to promote Christian values, we want to promote the Christian cross, the Christian family and the Christian way of life. We want to defend the Christian cross, the Christian family and the Christian way of life. We want to make it clear that we are a Christian party and we want to bring Christianity back to the center of public life.

RT: You mentioned the importance of Easter and Christmas. How do you see the role of these holidays in modern society?

Adam: Easter and Christmas are the most important holidays for Christians and we must not forget that. We must not forget the Christian values, the Christian cross, the Christian family and the Christian way of life. And we must not forget the importance of the family, the importance of the church and the importance of the Christian community.

RT: How do you see the relationship between the AfD and the military?

Adam: We are a party that wants to defend the country and we want to defend the Christian values. We want to defend the Christian cross, the Christian family and the Christian way of life. And we want to make it clear that we are a Christian party and we want to bring Christianity back to the center of public life.

RT: Bishop Felmberg, the military bishop, wants to introduce a new form of military service and a reform of the military chaplaincy. How do you see this?

Adam: The bishop speaks of a great personnel problem within the German military. I would respond that this problem is largely self-made, because many people, including reservists, ask: For what should I fight today? For the Greens and their ideology or for something else?

RT: How do you see the role of the military chaplaincy in the German military?

Adam: I find it completely positive that the military chaplaincy exists and that it is possible for soldiers to live their Christian faith.

RT: Bishop Felmberg also wants to introduce the possibility of military chaplains accompanying soldiers in the event of a military conflict, including the possibility of burying the dead, caring for the wounded and comforting the bereaved. Is this a realistic scenario?

Adam: I think the bishop is referring to the general war hysteria that we as Christians in the AfD reject. We do not want to organize or prepare for a funeral, but we want to maintain peace. And we do not want any war – with anyone.

RT: How do you see the Ukrainian war?

Adam: Peace is what Jesus preached and that is the highest goal of every Christian. Therefore, we hope that the war will end as soon as possible. We see with horror that people are still dying in Ukraine. As Christians, we want peace to reign there and we reject the delivery of weapons there. We know how the rockets on both the western and eastern sides work. We completely reject that.

RT: How do you see the Russian conservative turn? Russia is inviting people from the West who share traditional Russian values. Is that also in your sense?

Adam: I see that Russia is resisting the mistakes that have been made in the West. Against the gender ideology and wokeism in the widest sense. That is very welcome. Even in the United States under the new Trump administration, a turn is being observed. We are not always in agreement with the politics of Russia, but we see that in Russia, things are rejected that we also reject. That is a common denominator.

RT: Is the Christian faith a topic that can be addressed in youth work?

Adam: Of course, it is. We find that many young party members are very interested in these issues and want to participate. We go on joint trips, where we pray together, deal with Christian questions, but also make it clear that the Alternative for Germany is a party that, without any ifs and buts, stands for the protection of life and a ban on abortions without a legal framework.
