Chinese technology firm Dreame is planning to establish a luxury electric vehicle manufacturing facility in Brandenburg, Germany, strategically positioning it near Tesla’s Gigafactory. A company spokesperson, responding to inquiries from the Handelsblatt newspaper, confirmed the plans, substantiating earlier reports circulating in Chinese media.
According to the spokesperson, Dreame’s founder and CEO, Yu Hao, led a team to Germany in early September to identify a suitable location for the new factory. The move is intended to serve as a base for the company’s entry into the global automotive market.
Dreame, previously recognized for its production of household appliances, recently announced its expansion into vehicle manufacturing. The initial model slated for production is described as a luxury electric vehicle with design cues inspired by the iconic Bugatti Veyron. The company anticipates unveiling this vehicle in 2027, according to internal documentation referenced by the Handelsblatt.
