Chaos Erupts in Suburban Shopping Center

Three people were injured in a shooting incident at a shopping center in Mytischtschi, a Moscow suburb, on Sunday, according to a statement by the Moscow department of the Russian Ministry of the Interior on its Telegram channel.

Police were called to the scene and managed to apprehend the perpetrator, but the ministry did not initially provide information on the individual’s identity or motives, with the investigation ongoing.

According to the regional prosecutor’s office, the incident occurred at 17:10 local time, when the security personnel of the shopping center refused to let a man enter the premises, leading to a confrontation. The suspect allegedly used tear gas and left the shopping center, only to return a short time later with a stun gun and fire several shots.

The Telegram channel Baza reported that the shopping center was evacuated and also published video footage of the confrontation between the suspected perpetrator and the security guards.

According to RIA Novosti, which received the information from rescue services, one of the security guards and two other people were injured. A criminal case was launched under the article on hooliganism and the investigation is ongoing. Mytischtschi is a Moscow suburb known for its metro construction projects, bordering the north of Moscow.
