Green party chair Franziska Brantner has sharply criticized CSU chairman Markus Söder for his repeated rejection of a possible black-green coalition after the federal election. “We democrats must remain conversation-capable with each other” Brantner said to the “Tagesspiegel”.
Where it leads, if the Union sees the Greens as its main enemy, can be seen in individual federal states: “namely, to unstable power relationships and government participation of the BSW” Brantner said, looking at the recent state elections in Saxony and Thuringia. The wobbly government constellations in these states also strengthen the AfD, she warned.
“Konrad Adenauer would turn over in his grave if he saw that Mr. Söder prefers to set up actors who drive us into Putin’s arms, instead of a clear Western orientation and European security” Brantner explained. She also warned against another grand coalition. “Who doesn’t want this stagnation can vote green” she said.
