German politician Karin Prien, vice-chair of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), has expressed her support for the plan of her party’s leader Friedrich Merz to drastically change the asylum policy in Germany, warning of the erosion of democracy through asylum migration.
In an interview with the “Stern” magazine, Prien, who is affiliated with the liberal wing of the party, emphasized that the time has come for a directional decision for democracy: “Only if a center-right party like the CDU solves the migration problem in Germany can it still avert the erosion of our democracy and the rise of radical forces.”
According to Prien, swift and very clear steps are necessary to achieve this goal. She stated, “Aschaffenburg is a turning point.
